1965, July 31st a child was born, a child destine to grow up and be the master mind behind the creation of one of the biggest selling fantasy books in the world. Joanne Rowling (more commonly known as J.K Rowling) the lady who sat in cafes around Edinburgh, Scotland writing with just paper and pens a story, a tale, a mind blowing experience that she never thought would have 6 more stories that followed with over four hundred million in print in over 63 countries, 8 movies, a theme park based on the books and is now one of the richest women in Britain.
After a bumpy start to adult hood with Joanne’s mother dying and a failed marriage, she started fresh with her new daughter, Jessica. With as much time as she could have as a single mother J.K Rowling hurried to finish her draft of the first Harry Potter book Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The idea for the book came about when she was on a delayed train ride from Manchester to London. Often Joanne remarks that the idea just simply fell into her head, that Harry Potter arrived as a gift from the unknown.

She gives large amounts of money to charity, including Amnesty International, One Parent Families, The MS Society, and her most recent gesture, Joanne used her influence to help Emma Nicholson launch the Children’s High level group (helping Romania to ensure and enforce children’s rights worldwide.  A little over 10 years ago, a name of which she has become the distinction of Scotland’s most powerful woman, could not have been farther from the truth.
Now living with her second husband Neil Murray, and her three children, Jessica, David and Baby Mackenzie in Edinburgh, Scotland she has finally completed the seven Harry Potter Books in the series. The books that have taken one imagination, ten years and a lot of hard work to make people like myself enjoy a journey beyond what we know into the magical world of Harry Potter.
